Skechers x Star Wars Collection: “The Force Is Strong On These Shoes”

The ‘Force‘ has awakened in Skechers Philippines as they unveiled their newest Skechers X Star Wars Collection a few days ago in a geekery-filled launch at the Glorietta 2 hub in Makati City, Philippines.

We arrived on time in earnest anticipation of what lies beyond the galaxy far, far away. But it turned out to be not too far afterall.

Opening the program with a showcase of lightsaber-clad jedi knights, global footwear company Skechers unveiled the collection of footwear featuring characters, vehicles, and designs inspired by the Star Wars universe. It featured familiar characters like Chewbaacca, Yoda, Storm Troopers, and Darth Vader, among others, from the original and prequel trilogies at takeoff, as well as new fan favorites from upcoming content.

A Geeky Fashion Statement

For the age-mature but still kids at heart like me, they have the design-minimalist yet stylish black-and-white mash of the “Star Wars” logo printed on Skechers slip-ons..

Guess what I chose?

On impulse decision, I would have gotten the former and more stylish :”Stars Wars” – logo-pattered Skechers shoe but the Star Wars geek-wannabe in me couldn’t pass-up on the chance to wear the classic Star Wars poster on my shoe. That, aside from the fact that the blue hue is very eye-catching.

Kids, on the other hand, will be able to express their love for all things Star Wars as well by wearing sneakers, with a more constructed variety of quality materials dawning bright, iconic, and familiar designs from the realm of Sith and Jedi. A child-version of the Star Wars slip-on of my choice is also available.

Since we don’t have a kid yet, my wife choose and got the Darth Vader Skechers Sneakers (Star Wars – Jagged Starfleet) for her nephew. Needless to say, the nephew was ecstatic upon receiving his Skechers Sneakers.

It would also be noteworthy to say that this is my first pair of Skechers!
