A few weeks after the announcement of the Blogger Apprentice Contenders’ List, the contenders immediately got their first challenge – the Moderne Culinaire Academy Grand Launch!

Moderne Culinaire Academy (MCA) is one of the newest culinary school in the Philippines and is a duly recognized and certified technical/vocational school under TESDA. It is also strategically located at the Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

Last March 17, 2012, the group, together with other bloggers and media people were invited to the Grand Open House of MCA where they met MCA chefs headed by Chef Dino Guingona, Chef Reymar, and Chef Chris Locher.

Guests and the bloggers got to experience the school’s state of the art kitchens, dining and restaurant facilities, lecture rooms, full bar, the culinary research center, and a brief fruit-carving demo by Chef Billy Anislag.

After the tour, cocktails were served at the Airstrip function room where we got a view of the Makati skyline.
