What Would Sneakers Do? – Chuck-fie!
Ever wondered what would your sneakers do when no one is watching (if they had a life of their own)?
With the prevalence of social media and the “selfie” phenomenon, I think sneakers would come together and come up with their own version of the selfie – a chuck-fie!
This was the idea shared by friend Chris Cahilig a few nights ago when Converse Philippines hosted a small get-together of Converse aficionados to recognise the winners of a recent Converse Photo Contest online.
To put in my own input, I think “sneakersfie” would also do.
Loss of Gravity Music Video
At the same time, we celebrated with the Converse All Star brand ambassador Peso Movement band in launching the premiere of their “Loss of Gravity” music video at Tomato Kick, Tomas Morato in Quezon City.
The single, from their latest album “Gentle Sound of Chaos,” was specifically made for and inspired from Converse’s “What Would Sneakers Do?” campaign. Celebrating Filipino self-expression, originality, and creativity, the song highlights youth spontaneity in taking on challenging matters while exploring with the Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers.

Online Photo Contest
As per the online photo contest, still on the theme “ ]What would sneakers would do when nobody’s watching,” Converse Philippines awarded the top 3 winners whose photos were featured in the same video.
The top 3 winners are:
- Kiel Umali Ferreras – 1st Place
- Joshua Mae Villar – 2nd Place
- Timi Geisser – 3rd Place
The grand winner took home P30,000 worth of prizes while the 2nd and 3rd placer took home P20,000 and P10,000, respectively.
I think it’s time to get one from the Converse Fall 2014 collection. And to complete the look, you can browse guy’s fashion at www.zalora.com.ph.
So for you, “what would sneakers do when no one’s watching?”
