As a part-time IT instructor in a college in Manila, online resources and tools has always been of great help and assistance to developing my lessons and course materials. This proves that online learning is not exclusive to students, they can be used for teachers as well.

This is what Jerry Vicente Catabijan, SMPC President, had in mind when he started www.bebetter.com.ph. He intended it to be a CSR website of his company – Saint Mary’s Publishing Corporation (SMPC). ‘Be Better‘ aims to provide information and material for teachers who want to further their learning online.

Launched more than a year ago, www.bebetter.com.ph provides free articles about teaching tips, book features, educator profiles, and more. It is backed by a dedicated editorial team and a website rich with ideas and thoughts from contributing writers who are teachers themselves.
..that’s what led me to create an online resource site that will cater to teacher solely. Here, teachers can read up on a lot of practical articles that can help them become better educators, plain and simple,” shares SMPC President Mr. Jerry Catabijan.

Moreover, the website aims to become a resource hub for teachers who simply want to get better at what they do. With regular sections like “Shaping the self-learner” and “Feed your need to read,” there are a lot of resources you can tap or get inspiration from.
The word ‘better’ in Be Better is actually an acronym which stands for ‘Better Education Thrives Through Endless Reading’,” adds Mr. Catabijan.
